Teaching Tai Chi

This is me and a ten year old friend of mine. I am showing him the Wu technique of Tai Chi. The entire technique has 108 movements. I only taught him about four because it takes coordination and memorazitation to remember all those moves. They should be in correct order. Four proper movements per lesson should be plenty.
I wrote this entry in the "teaching for learning" because I was the one teaching. My ten year old friend was the one doing the learning. I observed that the kid payed attention to what I was explaining to him. He learned some movements and he later showed them to his mom. I could tell that the kid was happy.
This experience has helped me to develop as a teacher because it gave me the opportunity to teach. I explained and showed the moves to the kid. He performed the movements with me. He also performed the movemeentst by himself. I gave him feedback of his movements. I let him repeat the sequence several times.
